Lowell Greib MSc ND CISSN

Dr. Lowell Greib began his post-secondary education in 1993 at the University of Waterloo (UW).  Four years later, he received his degree in Biochemistry with a Biotechnology option.  In 1997, with the guidance of Dr. Vassili Karanassios, Lowell entered the Guelph-Waterloo Center for Graduate Work in Chemistry at the University of Waterloo. His research centered on technology for direct solid sample analysis.  It was also during these years that Lowell began the challenge of competitive endurance mountain biking.  Racing seasons presented him with several physical injuries for which he sought “alternative” therapies as treatment.  Self-study of complementary care ultimately led Lowell to the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM).  While still completing his thesis entitled, “Investigation of Direct solid Sample Introduction using Spark – and Particle Sample Introduction (PSI) – Inductively Coupled Plasma – Atomic Emission Spectrometry (ICP-AES)”, Lowell started his first year at CCNM.

In 2001, Dr. Greib co-founded the Sports Medicine Group at CCNM with Dr. Aubrey Rickford.  Lowell developed and continues to supervise the exercise science curriculum at CCNM which provides academic, clinical and practical opportunities to interns in their final year of education.  His academic development extends to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College where he is teaching sports nutrition (SS521) to students enrolled in the Exercise Science Residency Program.

With the rigorous training of the International Society of Sports Nutrition - Certified Sports Nutritionist designation, Lowell continues to be active in establishing nutrition and supplement strategies for some of Canada’s most elite athletes at his various private clinics as well as offering naturopathic care to other members of the community.

Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Greib fulfills community leadership roles in his volunteer work with the Huntsville/Lake of Bays Sports Council, the 2010 Ontario Winter Games, the 2010 Olympic Torch Relay, the Arrowhead Nordic Ski Club and the Board of Directors of Drugless Therapy – Naturopathy.
